Wednesday Wisdom: Get Outside

We’ve had some concept-heavy emails recently.

Sometimes, our mind likes to have frameworks, details, and metaphors. And last week’s email was one of my favorites.

But peace doesn’t depend on a theory. Phew!

Get Outside

Many people report feeling peace when they are outside, in nature.

So why not give that a try this week? Maybe you can venture to a new park or simply return to a beloved outdoor spot.

The only additional piece of this homework is to try to be one ounce more aware of your surroundings than usual.

Take in the smells, sounds, and sights.

Really feel yourself where you are, the quality of the air and temperature.

And if you notice any feelings of ease, enjoy them! Notice how good it feels to be outside.

Then the next time you’re inside, try to remember those good feelings.

And ok, if the weather is unbearably awful this whole week, instead do an indoor hobby or art you like. But then next week get outside!

That’s my short and simple message this week. I wish you wonderful moments in the sunshine, observing the buzz of life around you.

And if you’d like to read more this week, travel with me to Argentina and learn about the power of letting go.

Thanks for some of your precious time and attention! Please reply with any comments or questions.

In peace,

Juniper

This email and all media came from Montana, on the ancestral lands of the Salish, the Pend d’Oreille, Kootenai, and Blackfeet First Nations. All words and media by Juniper McKelvie. I don’t usually share much about my dog, but these moments were too cute to not share!
