Wed. Wisdom: We’re 100!

This is the 100th Wednesday Wisdom!

That means our 2-year anniversary is only a few weeks away.

And yet . . .

Against all odds

As a neurodivergent, consistency and routines are not easy for me. I sit here stunned, amazed that I have stuck with this inner peace email for so many weeks in a row. (I did accidentally skip a week or two in 2024, so I’m not perfect.)

Plus I didn’t know if anyone would be interested in reading my thoughts on inner peace, so I can’t thank you enough for sticking with me!

Often, I feel like I can and will continue this newsletter indefinitely. It helps me so much to reflect and write about peace each week.

And I hope it is helpful to you. That’s why I send it!

But I admit . . .

Ideal vs Real

In my ideal world, Wednesday Wisdom would be my main focus and bread and butter, 100% ad-free and fueled by donations, maybe something like The Marginalian (formerly Brain Pickings).

Wow, she has a great description of her independent publication and the labor it takes to create it, and I am in such a similar situation. So maybe go read her call for donations and come back here, please?

Wednesday Wisdom is a one-woman, 100% human show.

I don’t have any staff helping with research, proofreading, or photo taking or editing. I only used AI one time, to help me shorten 3 long paragraphs so they were more clear and quick for you to read.

All the other 99.99% of words and photos come from me - my ideas, my time, my effort. Even when I quote other peace teachers, it’s because I took the time to read their materials, select a good quote, and write a Wednesday Wisdom about it.

I don’t include ads or intend to. I don’t and won’t use affiliate links. So I can’t fund WW in those traditional ways.

The donations I’ve gotten have been modest but gratefully received.

I don’t have large or regular donors.

I’m struggling to balance paid jobs, growing my business, taking care of myself, having a little social life AND finding spacious, peaceful chunks of time during the week to focus on Wednesday Wisdom.

The good news?

You can help!

If your budget is tight, I understand because I’m in the same position. Just know that every donation helps, including small 1-time donations.

Or you can help in another, big way: Participate!

The best case scenario is that Wednesday Wisdom becomes a community - your ideas (and possibly even your content) help shape the future of Wednesday Wisdom.

So I have some simple actions you can do to keep Wednesday Wisdom going:

Action Steps this week (rather than Reflection Qs)

  1. Let me know what you want to see in future Wed. Wisdoms. Meditation tips? More stories from my personal life? Mini biographies of peacebuilders past and present? Inspiring quotes? Something else? What have you liked so far? Reply and tell me, please!
  2. Tell your friends and family about this amazing inner peace newsletter and share our sign up link.
  3. Reply to this email if you can donate any time or expertise, or know of someone who could help WW grow and maintain itself via donations or mentorship.

I’m thinking a lot about what I can do to manage my time and keep these emails quality and flowing.

So Wednesday Wisdom might change in terms of emails becoming shorter, or possibly including short video of me sharing an insight or tip. (Would you like that? If you only take 1 action step, let it be #1)

Please be patient in the next few weeks if emails are a little shorter or replays of past WW. I’m doing all I can to make space for WW and keep it going past our 2-year anniversary.

As always, thank you so, so much for pausing for peace today.

In peace,

Juniper

This email was sent from Missoula, Montana so . . .

Thank you to the First Nations of what is now called Western Montana: the Bitterroot Séliš (Salish), the Ql̓ispé (Kalispel), and the Ksanka (Kootenai) - you can read more about all 3 nations on their website.

I also want to give thanks to the Amskapi Piikani (Blackfeet) and the Apsáalooke (Crow) First Nations because I’ve been to and enjoyed their traditional homelands in recent years. Many thanks for your hospitality.
