I always feel a thrill when I see the first flowers of spring.
The above photo is from an old smartphone, hence the blur. But I love the way someone decided to reuse the stump as a planter for daffodils, those bright heralds of spring
This year, my first flower sighting happened in an unexpected place.
Crocuses are some of the first flowers to bloom here in the Rockies , so maybe it’s no coincidence I found some . . . in a Little Free Library, before any real flowers had come up from the ground.
Someone had left a pack of these lovely stickers for someone (me) to find and share with others.
A pack of purple crocus stickers just for me? What a lucky find!
Spread Beauty
The stickers are pretty to look at, and I also feel the warmth of being given a gift.
The anonymous person who put these unique flower stickers in the Little Free Library wanted to share beauty. Thank you.
Beauty can be a gateway to peace.
Reflection Qs:
Can I pause at least once this week to admire something beautiful around me? Flowers, buildings, interestingpeople - soak in the details and appreciate.
Can I share beauty this week? Small acts of kindness, commenting on something beautiful nearby instead of complaining about that thing you’ve already complained about, calling a friend to connect over your weekly wins rather than sending texts, etc
The true first flowers of spring I saw this year.
And P.S. . . . I also later found a pack of daffodil stickers in same little library. Yes!
Thanks for some of your precious time and attention today, and for being someone who wants peace. Thank you.
This email was sent from Missoula, Montana so . . .
Thank you to the First Nations of what is now called Western Montana: the Bitterroot Séliš (Salish), the Ql̓ispé (Kalispel), and the Ksanka (Kootenai) - you can read more about all 3 nations on their website.
I also want to give thanks to the Amskapi Piikani (Blackfeet) and the Apsáalooke (Crow) First Nations because I’ve been to and enjoyed their traditional homelands in recent years. Many thanks for your hospitality.
